Baby Massage

Prepared Childbirth Education
     Classes designed to teach the expectant mother and her "coach" techniques to be used during the labor and birth experience. Four Week Session

Registration: 
     You must register in advance. You should schedule the class so that you complete the course 3-4 weeks before your due date.

Newborn Cares Class
     Prepare yourself for parenting your newborn. A class designed to teach normal newborn cares and what to expect from birth to discharge. One Session

Breastfeeding Instruction Class
     A class to introduce and reinforce breastfeeding techniques for the new mother and baby. One Session

Infant / Child CPR
     American Red Cross Health and Safety courses teach you how to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies.
     Infant/Child CPR focuses on what to do if there is an emergency in which a child is not breathing, has no pulse, or is choking.

Fee:    $24 (includes book)
Time:  6 p.m. - 10 p.m.


Teen Childbirth Education
   
A one-on-one program designed to meet the needs of the teen learner. Addresses the individual needs of the teen mother including prenatal care, physical and psychological changes during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and baby cares.

Registration:

Sibling Class:
    
A class designed to help prepare brothers and sisters for the arrival of the new baby. Class consists of a department tour and age appropriate video and discussion

Waterbirth Education:
     A class designed for the woman considering a natural waterbirth experience. Course discusses what has become known as the "natural epidural" and explains the waterbirth process.

Individual Consultation:

Baby Massage
     Bring your infant and join other parents as Sheila Siffermann, nationally certified massage therapist, teaches you massage techniques for your new baby.
     Affiliated with Green Lake based ChiroPlus, Siffermann, who is a certified "Baby's First Massage" instructor, said massage has tremendous benefits for infants.
     "Studies have shown that massage relaxes the body, and enhances bonding and communication between parent and child," she said. "It also can help aid in growth and development, and improve the baby's sleeping habits."

Participants are asked to bring their baby's favorite blanket and refrain from feeding their baby half-an-hour prior to the program.
