Emergency Department
Q. | What is the difference between Walk-in and Emergent Services |
A. | The Berlin
Emergency Department uses an acuity system that determines if a patient
qualifies for urgent care or emergent care. This determination
will be made after we treat the patient. A physician can charge
differently from the emergency department. When the emergency
staff does extra items, example: a pulse oximeter or giving medication,
this does not qualify for walk-in service.
If a patient would like to see a copy of the acuity system this can be arranged. Any questions regarding billing of emergency patients should be directed to myself and I would be happy to explain the charges. You can send an email of call me. My number is 920-361-5935. The reasons that the Berlin ED went to an acuity system is so every patient would be treated fairly. Jim Piper Clinical Manager of Berlin ED |
