Community Health Network is now
accepting applications for its 9th annual “Commitment to Healthcare
Award.” The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional student from
this area who is pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
The Commitment to Healthcare
Award has traditionally been given to area residents who are either changing
careers and returning to school to pursue a new career path, or to those
seeking advanced degrees or training in their present healthcare occupation.
In order to meet entry
requirements for the Award, an applicant must be either:
·
A non-traditional student, generally defined as a student
25 years of age of or older; not a graduating high school senior, and
·
A resident of the CHN service area, generally defined as
Green Lake, Marquette and Waushara Counties
-or-
·
A CHN employee (or immediate family member of a CHN
employee) who has been employed by CHN for at least one year and is pursuing a
new career path as a non-traditional student
To apply, candidates must
submit a completed application form, available from the Human Resource Services
department at Berlin Memorial Hospital, along with two letters of recommendation
and a one-page essay detailing their reasons for pursuing the healthcare
career. All elements must be included in one packet and returned to CHN
Community Relations by April 1, 2001.
The Commitment to Healthcare Award committee will then review applications,
contact finalist applicants for in-person interviews and select the winner. The
Commitment to Healthcare Award winner will be announced in late spring.
