CHN to open new Walk-In Clinic on BMH campus in August

(Berlin)—Has a lingering cough ever kept you up at night, but you couldn’t get in to see your physician the next day? Or did you ever have a minor health need that required same-day service, but your doctor’s office was booked?

Starting on Monday, August 4th, Community Health Network’s (CHN) new Walk-In Clinic, located in Suite 1500 of the Medical Office Building at Berlin Memorial Hospital, will be available to care for life’s smaller emergencies.

“We recognize that today’s lifestyles extend beyond a medical clinic’s traditional daytime hours,” said Craig W.C. Schmidt, CHN’s President and CEO. “We’re excited about this opportunity to serve our patients in a manner that better meets the demands of their busy schedules.”

The CHN Walk-In Clinic’s initial hours will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, with weekend hours to be added in the near future.

The CHN Walk-In Clinic treats common acute problems including sore throats and colds, ear aches, minor cuts, viral infections and bug bites. The clinic is staffed by CHN family physicians, physician assistants and allied health staff, and accepts most major health insurance plans, including Medicare.

The clinic serves patients on a first come, first serve basis – and if a patient’s health needs should turn serious while at the clinic, the care of the Berlin Memorial Hospital Emergency Department is just down the hall.
